Dual Enrollment

国产偷拍视频Eligible students can enroll at Daytona State College to earn high school credit and college credit at the same time. Dual enrollment courses can be taken during school hours, after school, or during the summer at no cost to public high school students.

The process begins with the guidance counselors at the high school. For more information, please speak with your high school guidance counselor or speak with any Academic Advisor at your local campus.

Admission Requirements

  • Open to students in 6th-12th grade
  • Minimum, unweighted GPA of 3.0 for college credit degree and certificate programs or 2.0 for vocational programs
  • Minimum scores on an appropriate placement test (see below)
  • Permission from school counselor and parent or legal guardian
  • Florida statute requires that Home school students be registered with the District home school office. Home school students must submit the home education verification indicating current enrollment in a valid home school program prior to admission.
  • Dual Enrollment students are not eligible for limited access programs.
  • Students over the age of 18 are not eligible for dual enrollment.

1. Get Admitted!

Ask your school counselor and parent to complete the Dual Enrollment Approval Form. The form is available at most local public and private schools. Forms are also available in the Admissions Office on any campus. Home school students will complete their form with a parent or legal guardian and submit the home education verification at the time of admission. Home school students: for the purposes of dual enrollment, parents act as the school counselor.

2. Get Placed!

All dual enrollment students may be required to take a placement test. Students may either take the P.E.R.T. or TABE test depending on their program of study. The results will help with your placement into appropriate courses to ensure your academic success. Minimum scores are required for enrollment.

You may be exempt from taking all or part of a placement test if you meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Earned a score of 440 on the verbal and/or 440 on the math section of the SAT within the last two years
  • Earned a score of >=19 on the reading, >=17 on the English and/or >=19 on the math section of the ACT within the last two years
  • Successfully complete a college-level English course that is equivalent to ENC1101 and/or college-level math course that is equivalent to MAT1033 or higher

3. Get Advised!

Take your scores back to your  school  counselor. Your counselor will help you select classes based upon your test scores, graduation requirements, and class schedule. The counselor must complete, in full, the Course Request section of the Dual Enrollment Approval form including course #, section, meeting time/days, and signature, for each class you plan to take. 

Take the completed form to an Academic Advisor at any Daytona State campus. The advisor will review your schedule with you and discuss your college program. More information is available from the Academic Advising Office国产偷拍视频.

4. Get Registered!

Sign up for your classes in person at any campus Falcon Center.

5. Get a Schedule!

After registration, take a copy of your schedule to your school counselor's office.

6.  Get an ID Card, Parking Decal and Books!

国产偷拍视频Get your student ID card and parking decal at the Question and Answer Center on the Daytona Beach campus or the Falcon Center on regional campuses.  You can also get your books .  Volusia and Flagler county students will receive their books from their school; home school students will be provided a voucher, and private school students will need to purchase their own books.
